Jonas is a character actor, theatre director and panto writer.

He grew up within the working-class, Irish community in his hometown, Birmingham. First attending The Birmingham Theatre School in the late 1990’s then as a post-graduate at London’s Academy Drama School graduating in 2005. Jonas now lives in North London with his wife and daughter.

As an actor Jonas has toured extensively in classics by by playwrights such as Shakespeare, Wilde, Shaw, Coward, Priestley, Karoline Leach, and Alan Ayckbourn. He has performed in many theatres including the Theatre Royal Brighton, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Birmingham Old Rep, Oxford Playhouse, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guilford, Buxton Opera House, Weymouth Pavilion, PARK Theatre, and is a regular panto performer at The Hawthorne Theatre in Welwyn Garden City. Jonas has also appeared in short films, TV commercials, music videos, online content and the recent feature film My Day. He can also be heard in the radio comedy series, Barmydale.

As a director, he specialises in the works of Bernard Shaw and is the founder of SHAW2020, a theatre company made up of actor/members of the Shaw Society, a charity who’s president and vice-presidents include; Sir Michael Holroyd, Dame Judi Dench, Sylvia Syms OBE, Bonnie Greer OBE, Michael Friend and Richard Digby Day. In 2021 Jonas was elected as the society’s creative director and a trustee. His production of Shaw’s Village Wooing received four and five star reviews from leading online websites plus a nomination for a Standing Ovation award by London Pub Theatres Magazine and  nomination for a Short Run OffFEST award from the prestigious Offies Awards, the body which recognises the creativity of OffWestEnd theatres.

Jonas was invited to direct Pygmalion for Tread The Boards 10th anniversary season at The Attic Theatre, Stratford upon Avon in 2019. Further adding to his Shavian credentials.
